CBCT AS AN OPTION IN THE KRSTL ALIGNER PLANNING PROCESS

CONE BEAM COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is a valuable source of 3D digitally simulated data and an imaging method that continues to grow in popularity amongst Orthodontic Care Providers.  This digital method is an option for KRSTL case submissions, meaning that CBCT data is embedded into the KRSTL 3D plans.  Orthodontic diagnosis, treatment and follow‐up data derived from the CBCT method is far more detailed and reliable than data produced through conventional radiography. CBCT generated designs produce superior aligner treatment plans, allowing more control over the force systems and root movements.

INCREASED PLANNING EFFECTIVENESS

KRSTL planning can be generated through the integration of the CBCT method into the treatment process. The CBCT 3D digitally simulated data collection method allows the KRSTL Planning Team to accurately analyse, plan and print digitally produced 3D models.  It also allows for manipulation prior to case acceptance.

ROOT MOVEMENT

Greater accuracy in diagnosis is achieved using CBCT 3D digitally simulated data, thereby enabling the KRSTL Planning Team to visualize the movement of the roots during set-up.

PATIENT CONFIDENCE

Increased patient case acceptance is encouraged through the use of CBCT 3D digital simulations of the final outcome of the treatment.  This allows the Dental Practitioner to visually communicate the diagnosis and treatment plan in a way that the patient understands.  CBCT 3D digital simulation also increases patient confidence in the KRSTL process.

SHARING IMAGES WITH YOUR PATIENTS

You can easily share the 3D digital simulations with patients to view on their smartphone or other compatible devices. Images can include both treatment and root planning.
